Let's Sew Pants - Mamma Can Do It - Fit Pants

Mamma Can Do It has hit it out of the park with this pattern for pants which is available for both women and girls. This is a versatile pattern which includes wide leg, flared, straight, and skinny pants, as well as cut lines for shorties, mid thigh shorts, knee length, and capris.   There is an option for a yoga waistband or an elastic one. Oh and better still, there are three different pockets included: hip pockets, and back pockets either with a triangular point (like traditional jeans), or square. Whew!  There really are that many choices.  Seriously, you can make whatever type of pants you prefer, all from one pattern.

I chose a soft French Terry for my first pair, and I am very pleased with the fit.   These pants can be made with nearly any type of knit fabric that has 50% two way stretch. These pants are the skinny option, with a faux fly, elastic waist and back pockets.  While it doesn't really show in the pictures, I did traditional jean topstitching on the faux fly and pockets.  I will include a close up of the fly.
Sadly, the colour is off on this close up as it was taken indoors, rather than outside like the full pictures. It does give you the sense of the topstitching possibilities, though.  Wouldn't it be fun to do some fancy patterns on the back pockets?

The women's pattern is available from size 00 - 20 which would span waist sizes from 22" - 40".  The girls' pattern is available from size 2 - 20 which encompass waist sizes from 20" - 32".  The pattern has gone through extensive testing and will provide a good fit as long as you choose the size according to your measurements. I think my next pair will be made in ponte, and I really want to try the flared option.
I feel very fortunate to have been chosen to test this pattern.  It is a fantastic pattern!  I love the flexibility of the four different styles of pant, and I know that the skinny style will be perfect for some capri pants.  You can't go wrong in choosing this for all your planned pants.  While I didn't originally plan to include a picture of my shorts in this blog, I decided to add one to give you an idea of the thigh length with the yoga waist. Please excuse the odd crop, but this was originally just a fit picture, so I did my best to remove the cluttered background.
Pick up this pattern at Mamma Can Do It while the release sale is on.  They pattern is 20% off and I am sure you will be pleased with whatever style you choose to make. Please feel free to use my affiliate link.  It will help support my sewing habit.  http://MammaCanDoIt.com?aff=229
